ASKED QUESTIONS

1

Who can apply with Home Rebuilt?

Any individual or family who wants to own or renovate a home but struggles to qualify for traditional financing can apply. Whether you’re first-time buyers, self-employed, or facing financial challenges, we look at your situation differently than a bank.

Do I need good credit to qualify?

No. While we consider your financial situation, credit history is not the only factor. We focus    on your commitment, ability to contribute, and long-term plan for the home.

2

3

How does the “mediary mortgage” process work?

If you don’t qualify directly with a bank, Home Rebuilt holds the mortgage in our name. You make monthly payments to us, and we pay the bank on your behalf. Once the mortgage is fully paid, the home is transferred to your name.

Is Home Rebuilt a rent-to-own program?

No. With Home Rebuilt, your monthly payments go directly toward your mortgage. You’re building equity and ownership from day one — not just paying rent.

4

5

Can I choose the home design or renovation style?

Yes. Families can pick from our home plans or bring their own ideas. Renovations are tailored to your goals — whether that’s making your home bigger, safer, or creating rental units for extra income.

What if I already own land or a house?

That’s great! You can use your land for a new build, or your house can be renovated into a multi-unit property. This contribution can also serve as part of your upfront commitment.

6

7

How long does the process take?

Timelines vary depending on whether you’re building new or renovating. On average, planning and financing take a few weeks, and construction can take several months depending on the project size.

Do I risk losing everything if I miss one payment?

No. We work with families first to find solutions if payments become difficult. Default only happens if payments stop altogether without resolution.

8

9

Can I eventually refinance into my own mortgage?

Yes. Many families use Home Rebuilt as a stepping stone. Once your finances improve, you can refinance with a traditional bank and transfer the mortgage into your name sooner.

Will my payments be higher than if I went through a bank?

Not necessarily. Payments are designed to be fair and aligned with your budget. The  difference is that Home Rebuilt takes on the risk the bank won’t — giving you an opportunity where you otherwise may not have had one.
